Who We Are
Kisumu Shinners is a Non-Profit Community Based Organization in Western Kenya led by GBMSM and Male Sex Workers (MSM). The Organization was formed in August 2009 and registered in 2012 by GBMSMs/MSWs who have experienced sex work in Western Kenya.
The formation was prompted by the rampant cases of Human Rights violations targeting GBMSM/MSW spanning from Denial of Healthcare services, Sexual assault, Arbitrary arrests by the police and escalating murder cases. Since then, Shinners have become the voice of the...

What we Stand for
Shinners fights for the Rights of GBMSM and Male Sex Workers in different aspects from Healthcare, Legal Services to Economic Empowerment. SRH Education, Training, Networking and Capacity Building, Sensitization, and Research are part of the approaches used to achieve our goals in bringing positive impact to the Key Population in Western region of Kenya and the community at large. We strive to ensure the LGBTQIA+ community are safe from Human Rights Violations and live in harmony in their communities.
